The final film in Seijun Suzuki's "Taisho Trilogy" injects a ghostly yarn into the real-life story of painter/poet Yumeji Takehisa (Kenji Sawada). Anticipating a passionate meeting with his lover, Yumeji's wandering eye finds another object of desire. His lust for Tomoyo (Tomoko Mariya) calls up the ghost of her dead husband, raises the ire of the jealous suitor who murdered him, and spawns a host of other threatening supernatural beings.
